about

Never beholden to any single genre, Joe Bananas is back -- this time with ensemble players. "Joe Bananas and the Last Electro Acoustic Astro Jazz Ensemble" is meant to be transportive, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the you: the walls of sound are built from all directions. Impressionistic, this album seems to be more inspired by color, maybe, than music. Two drum kits, live conga and percussion, found sound, 808s (minus their infamous kick drum; rather used as accompaniment), electric pianos, guitars, bass, clavichord, and a host of synthesizers 'paint' throughout rather lengthy tunes that seem to arrive fully-formed, yet still take the listener to new and unexpected places...
